For Union Business Managers

Adams-Hansen & Associates is an independent registered investment advisor. We started working with unions via a relationship with a local custodian in the early 2000s.  In 2008 we implemented a portfolio within the custodian’s platform.

Over the years referrals have developed many relationships and now Adams-Hansen serves members by managing money for a few General Accounts, few Market recovery accounts, and several DC or 401(k) plans. We also deliver financial education to six or seven locals.

This experience has driven Adams-Hansen to become skilled at understanding and maximizing the value of existing and potential benefits for members and their families.

Adams Hansen & Associates provides financial services to Unions.

We provide the Local IPS development, asset management, financial education, & supplemental benefits access. Learn more about our General Account Investment Strategy and Professional Asset Management.

We provide the members education, investment options, and whatever financial services they may need. We like to meet with members:

    • At member meetings to provide 10-15 meeting talks on subjects such as combing pension and social security planning, basics of wills and trusts, understanding how your DC plan works and how to make it work for you, allocating your Defined Contribution Account, and more.
    • In their first year of membership to help them understand the options and limitations of the plan, particularly pre vesting, and to make sure they are introduced to the appropriate self-funded options that augment the health and welfare plan.
    • In their last year(s) of employment to help them understand the options and limitations of the plan, though our Member Pension Preparedness Plan. Each member has different facts and desired results. Once we fully understand the member’s options we, as independent fiduciaries, can provide individual education and advice at no charge to the member (within reason).
    • Who become disabled or are diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Members in this situation have several options, all of which need serious attention at a time when the member is potentially least able to evaluate the choices.
